Skippered Sailboat Rides Metro Area and Greater Minnesota

Enjoy the brisk Spring sunshine, the fleeting fall colors and everything in between as you sail quietly on Lake Minnetonka, White Bear Lake, Medicine Lake, Lake Harriet, Lake St. Croix, Leech Lake, or Duluth Harbor. The boats used are primarily keelboats which are ideal for couples and can easily accommodate up to four people. Several boats are available so rides for larger groups are possible. Each sailing vessel has an American Sailing Association instructor aboard who will sail the boat and work with interested guests to let them sail and control the boat as much as possible.

Northern Breezes offers skippered rides on our spectacular sailboats. A skippered ride is a great way to get out on the water with family or friends and an experienced skipper to show you the ropes.

Locations: 

Medicine Lake:  Located in the Twin Cities, just east of 494 in French Regional Park.  We offer rides on our WindRider, a 17' Trimaran, which will accommodate two adults.

The WindRider 17 Trimaran is a great small boat to take for a day sail on a hot day.  It is close enough to the water that all on board can stay cool by dragging their feet in the water. Windrider 17

Lake Minnetonka:  Located at Shorewood Yacht Club, just minutes west of Excelsior on beautiful Lake Minnetonka near the intersection of Highway 7 and County Road 19, Northern Breezes offers rides on our many boats.  These include our 23' Ensigns, a 26' Pearson, a 27' Pearson, and a 28' O'Day  Additional pictures and descriptions of these boats can be found on our boat club page.

Adagio, our 28' O'Day, has a large cockpit and spacious decks topside, plus standing headroom and a marine head down below.

Hunter 23' Sailboat

Lake St Croix:  Located on the St Croix River out of Windmill Marina, our 23' Hunter and 22' Catalina Capri offer room for four adults and are great boats for day sailing on the river.

Scheduling and Pricing:

2-Hours Private (up to four people): $400
3 and 4-Hour rides are available by calling our office.

Please call to discuss pricing at other locations.  Our schedule is flexible and we will work with you to fit your individual needs.

Reservation/Cancellation Policy
Reservations are required as well as a forty-eight hour notice of cancellation in order to avoid forfeiture of deposit. In the event of adverse weather, we will work with you to reschedule; this is not a reservation/cancellation issue. We always try to work with our ride customers.

The Ensign is an ideal family and friends boat. Our boats are equipped with roller furling genoas and mainsails with adjustable topping lifts for ease of use. They also have reliable 4-stroke outboard engines.

The Regional Magazine, Northern Breezes, was started in 1990. The online Sailing Magazine, SailingBreezes.com, was started in 1997. Northern Breezes Sailing School started in 1999. The school offers everything in sailing from Youth Sailing Camps, Adult Intro Courses to Offshore Sailing on Lake Superior, Lake Michigan and in the Caribbean islands as well as Marine Weather, Coastal and Celestial Navigation ashore classes on Lake Minnetonka and Afton.
