Captain Tony Green
Captain Tony Green has been boating since 1985,
including eight years as a U.S. Navy nuclear
submarine officer. He is a Coast Guard licensed Master
with Great Lakes, Sailing and Towing Endorsements
and teaches on local waters, Lake Superior and the
Caribbean. He holds
American Sailing Association Instructor ratings in
Advanced Coastal Cruising, Cruising Catamaran,
Bareboat Chartering, Basic Coastal Cruising, Basic Keelboat,
Basic Small Boat, Docking, Coastal Navigation, Basic
Celestial Navigation and Marine Weather. He has
logged more than 1,500 offshore sailing miles and
crossed Lake Superior numerous times, including the
2011 Trans Superior yacht race. His articles have appeared in
Cruising World, SAIL, Small Craft Advisor and Northern
Breezes Sailing Magazines. Tony lives in Minneapolis
with his wife and two daughters.
