Captain Tom Igielski
Captain Tom Igielski has been
sailing since the age of 17. He has spent most of
his time sailing / racing boats in the scow class,
including Butterfly, C, MC, M20 and E scows on many
of the area lakes in the Midwest. He has also sailed
in the British Virgin Islands and on Lake Superior,
in the Apostle Islands. He currently owns a Catalina
Capri 22, which he sails on Lake St. Croix, out of
Afton MN. Captain Tom is a Coast Guard Licensed 50
Ton Master, with a Sailing Endorsement. He currently
holds American Sailing Association instructor
ratings in Basic Keelboat, Basic Coastal Cruising,
Bareboat Chartering, Advanced Coastal Cruising,
Marine Weather, Marine Radar and Coastal Navigation.
He mostly enjoys introducing newcomers to the sport
of sailing.
