Captain Dale Fitch
I have been sailing on Lake
Michigan since 1974, when I relocated from the
Detroit area.
Sailing has been a passion for me, and we
have raised our children on our boats, taking annual
cruising vacations since their infancy.
Racing has been a big part of this activity
until 2001, when I switched gears to more of a
cruising boat.
I enjoy instructing as it allows
me to introduce the sport I love to others.
Above all, we concentrate our efforts on
teaching that sailing is fun.
We also stress safety, so that our students
are confident in their skills to safely handle
emergencies.
My racing background allows me to teach the
skills of proper sail trim to allow students
maximize the enjoyment of their sailing experience.
