Audrey Royer
I fell in
love with sailing after an overnight captained
charter of the Thirty Thousand Islands of the
Georgian Bay in Lake Huron, Canada.
The ability to harness the wind to quietly
travel to picturesque destinations appealed to me.
I took my first ASA course, Basic Keelboat
Sailing, in 2002. From there I progressed to Basic
Coastal Cruising, Bareboat Chartering, Coastal
Navigation, and Cruising Catamaran. In addition to
Lake Huron, I have sailed on and around Lake
Michigan, Lake Superior, the Florida Keys, and the
British Virgin Islands. I thoroughly
enjoy cruising. Few things are finer than watching
the sun set after anchoring in a scenic cove.
I decided to share my love of
sailing with others in 2007 by becoming an ASA
Instructor. I find it rewarding to guide my students
through the process of gradually gaining sailing
knowledge, skill, and confidence.
