Owner S/V Shanti, C&C 33 located Pike's Bay Marina, Bayfield, Wisconsin in the beautiful Apostle Islands.

Captain Gail Bowdish took her first sailing class in 1992 and purchased her first boat, an Islander 36 just a year and a half later.  In addition to cruising three of the five Great Lakes, she has competed in the Trans-Superior race three times, and has sailed offshore in the Caribbean 1500 and Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, crossing the Atlantic in the process and finishing first in class.

She has chartered in the Chesapeake, Florida, Abacos, British Virgin Islands and Greece.  In 2003 she sold Aerie to Northern Breezes Sailing School when she purchased Gaiamar, a Beneteau 42cc in TMM's BVI charter fleet.  The following year, she purchased Shanti, a C&C 33, for sailing on the Great Lakes.  She has lived aboard Shanti the past two summers, and is working toward the goal of living aboard year-round, spending winters in the Caribbean and summers on the Great Lakes.  Captain Gail began teaching for Northern Breezes Sailing School in 2005.  She looks forward to sharing her passion for sailing with students who are interested in taking their sailing skills to the next level.  Adventure cruises for couples or families are available on the Great Lakes and the Caribbean through Northern Breezes Sailing School.
