Sonnen BMW Returns as Flagship Sponsor of 2016 Pacific Cup
The Pacific Cup Yacht Club (PCYC) is pleased to announce Sonnen BMW as the Flagship Sponsor of the 2016 Pacific Cup. As they did for the 2014 race, Sonnen BMW is sponsoring both the Bon Voyage Party and a named division of the race.
In addition, Sonnen BMW’s General Manager, Andy Costello, has just entered the 2016 race in his J/125, Double Trouble, to challenge again for top honors in a very competitive division. Costello is an accomplished sailor with an impressive list of wins in major regattas. “The Pacific Cup is one of the most fun ocean races,” says Costello. “You sail out of San Francisco Bay under the Golden Gate Bridge knowing that within days you’ll be surfing downwind toward the warm breezes of Hawaii and the fantastic hospitality of Kaneohe Yacht Club. I am very pleased that Sonnen BMW is continuing as a Pacific Cup sponsor for 2016.”

To date, twenty-six boats have entered the 2016 Pacific Cup. Our pre-race training begins on May 17 with a US Sailing Certified Safety at Sea seminar at Encinal Yacht Club, and the first of two Pacific Offshore Academy seminars at Richmond Yacht Club on June 13. We will also be presenting an introductory seminar at the Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show on Saturday, April 11, at 3:30pm followed by a Mai Tai party at the Easom Rigging booth.
