Mack Boring & Parts Company Turns 90 This Year!

Mack Boring & Parts Co. is proudly celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2012.

From its early days as the Newark, NJ area’s premier rebuilder of Model-T automobile engines, Mack Boring has grown to become one of the most advanced diesel power engineering, assembly, service and distribution organizations in North America.

The origin of the Mack Boring business name dates back to 1922 when Ed McGovern Sr. founded the company. His nickname was “Mack” and “boring” was one of his thriving machine shop specialties. The company is now under the fourth generation of uninterrupted McGovern family management.

To help commemorate its milestone, Mack Boring has launched a website (www.mbpc90.com) dedicated to reflecting on the company’s heritage. The site includes a fascinating company history, written by highly regarded industry author Steve D’Antonio, a timeline, testimonials and profile of the business today.

Mack Boring is one of North America’s leading distributors of marine and industrial diesel engines, marine transmissions and related powertrain products. The company also manufactures its own line of diesel generators, sold under the Global Power Products brand name. Headquartered in Union, NJ, with branches in Middleborough MA and Wilmington, NC, Mack Boring & Parts Company is an exclusive east coast factory distributor for Yanmar, Scania, Mitsubishi and Isuzu diesel engines.
