Atlantis WeatherGear launches new expanded Spring 2011 line
May 3, 2011 (MARBLEHEAD, Mass.) - Atlantis WeatherGear, America's fastest-growing brand of apparel for sailing and the coastal lifestyle, today unveiled their Spring 2011 line.
The new Atlantis range includes updated colors for existing styles as well as new additions to both their line of performance sailing gear and the "Deck to Dock" collection of casual apparel. The new line continues the company's approach of delivering world-class technical sailing performance in gear designed by sailors for sailors and tested both here in Marblehead and on race courses around the world.
New additions to the performance range include the slimmer, trimmer Zephyr® soft shell jackets and the Flying Point® collection of ¼-zip performance fleece tops for men and women. Both new lines are coordinated to offer an effective layering solution for active sailors, great-looking options for team apparel and impactful merchandising for Atlantis retailers.
But the biggest step forward for the brand in 2011 is the new Resolute® jacket and pant. In four short years, Atlantis has established a strong leadership position with the innovative and feature-rich Aegis® line for men and women and the Microburst® line, the lightest-weight performance sailing apparel on the market. But both Atlantis and their customers felt like there was a gap between the two in terms of weight, price and performance, and for 2011, the company has filled that gap with Resolute.
The foundation on which this line is built is Atlantis' new Defender® triple-layer stretch waterproof/breathable laminate. This lightweight yet durable fabric has been tested in a broad range of conditions, and no other product on the market matches its combination of durability, breathability and athletic range of motion.
"We've been working on the Resolute line for some time now, and we think we have something pretty unique here." offered Bill Lynn, Atlantis' CMO. "Because our product development process is driven by sailors with an emphasis on innovation and performance, we sweat the details and we don't bring products to market until we're sure they're right. Resolute is right."
Over the past three years, Atlantis gear has become very popular among a broad range of sailors, and it's gotten rave reviews from Olympic aspirants sailing 470s and Stars and the cream of the Etchells and Melges 24 fleet to the crews of grand prix IRC race boats.
