Tacktick’s Wireless Wind comes out on top in comprehensive wind test comparison

Tacktick’s Wireless Wind comes out on top in comprehensive wind test comparison Tacktick’s T101 Wireless Wind transmitter and display has been voted overall winner in a comprehensive test of 10 wind instruments undertaken by Scandinavian practical boat magazine, Praktiskt Batagande.

The rigorous comparison test of 10 different wind instruments was carried out by Praktiskt Batagande in June 2010 using sophisticated wind tunnel equipment. Tacktick’s T101 Wireless Wind Transmitter was the only wind instrument to receive the full 5 stars for performance, reliability, functions and ease of use and was voted ‘Best of the Test’. Tacktick’s T101 was noted to be the only instrument that accurately recorded the actual wind data across the test spectrum.

Tacktick’s recently launched MN30 Entry Level Wind was also in the test and received 4 stars and was praised for its ease of installation and value for money.

Tacktick’s range of wireless wind transmitters offer the ultimate solution for quick and easy installation for new or replacement wind systems with options for sailing boats, racing yachts and a new low cost retro-fit range. Tacktick’s robust and highly responsive wind transmitter can be fitted in seconds with just a couple of screws; the wind data is then transmitted wirelessly to the Tacktick display.

The T101 Micronet Wind System is suitable for all boats from day sailors up to large cruising yachts. The system comprises the wireless, solar powered wind transmitter plus a solar-powered wireless analogue display which can be fitted anywhere on the boat. This is a stand-alone system that requires no wiring or batteries.

The new MN30 Entry Level Wind System is ideal for sailing or power cruising yachts up to 35ft, whether replacing an existing system or installing for the first time. Wind speed and direction information is delivered wirelessly from the wind transmitter, whilst the display itself is powered by the boat’s 12v battery. With no wires to run down the mast installation is quick and efficient and makes this an ideal replacement for broken wind systems.
