Manitowoc Marina Under New Management

Long-Time Industry Professional, Rich Larsen, Takes Over Slip and Asset Management

Manitowoc, WI - As of October 1st, 2011, Manitowoc Marina’s lease and assets have been sold to Manitowoc Marina, L.L.C. The new management team, headed by long-time industry professional Rich Larsen, purchased the operation from Sailboats Inc., of Superior, Wisconsin.

Manitowoc Marina is a full-service marina facility with 235 slips that is owned by the City of Manitowoc. It has been managed and operated by Sailboats Inc. since 1985. Jack Culley, who has served as General Manager since 1991, will semi-retire at the end of a six-month transition period.

The new Manitowoc Marina L.L.C. was founded by Rich Larsen, who will now act as President and General Manager of the facility. Rich has over 25 years of marina-related experience. Rich served as Operations and Service Manager at Manitowoc Marina for 18 years before leaving to spend the last five years as Vice President and General Manager of Yacht Works in Sister Bay, Wisconsin. According to Rich, “managing my own marina is the fulfillment of my lifelong ambition.”

As in the past, Manitowoc Marina will continue to focus on providing a personal and professional level of service in marina management, yacht finishing, structural and mechanical repairs, electronic installations and rigging. In addition to the 235-slip marina, Manitowoc Marina offers indoor and outdoor storage, fuel sales, on-site ship’s store and more. It is a certified Wisconsin Clean Marina.
