Scanstrut launches NEW Scanpod design
 As an international leader in the design and manufacture of installation solutions for marine electronics, Scanstrut is ensuring it remains at the forefront of the marine industry with its new product range for 2011. Key for the season is the brand’s Scanpod range, which has been updated with an array of new features to benefit electronics installed at the helm, deck or mast of a boat.
With a new, compact design, the Scanpods provide secure, watertight installation for marine electronics. It’s crucial for electronic equipment to remain in optimum working condition whilst at sea – especially in poor weather conditions. The Scanpod range features a multiple watertight seal to provide a barrier to water ingress, ensuring peace of mind for owners.
The pods have been upgraded with a double layer of ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene). ABS is renowned for its impact resistance and toughness, creating unrivalled support for all electronic screens. In addition, ABS has high heat resistance properties and the Scanpod range has been comprehensively and successfully tested by Scanstrut at a Raymarine test centre.
All models in the Scanpod range are exceptionally quick, easy and safe to install. Injection moulded ABS inserts have been placed into the front of the pod, enabling fixings to be fitted securely. A lip allows the front and back of the pod to be fitted together seamlessly.
The Helm Pod features a mounting saddle for a secure and rigid fit onto any pedestal. It has been designed with a unique clamping system to ensure a universal fit for all pedestal rails from 25mm to 37mm, and any rail width from 178mm (7”) - eliminating the need for time consuming and awkward drilling of the stainless rail.
