Argos Karol Jablonski Wins DN European Championship

Argo Challenge's Karol Jablonski is the God of Ice. Jablonski added his third DN European Championship victory to his record eight World Championship titles. He has been runner up at the Europeans and the Worlds twice and four times, respectively and is the most decorated DN iceboat sailor in history. Jablonski left his mark on the ice boating world in the 1980s. After taking eight years off from championship iceboat racing, he followed his passion, donned his helmet, sharpened his blades and returned to the DN. The ice and winds were ideal during the opening day of racing in Saaremaa. By Jablonskis estimates, the winds were 14-18 knots and he skittered along at 120 -140 knots in his sled.  Read more ...

Argo Athlete Spotlight on Paul Ryan

"My success is due to the fact that I push myself to be the best that I can be at all times in every endeavor and thats the way it has been both before and since my accident", said Ryan. "Its like that old saying: the more I train the luckier I get".

The Argo Challenge represents taking the sport to the absolute highest level for Ryan and he sees no reason why there should be any obstacles. "I have spent all my life chasing one sporting dream or another. "I certainly didn't choose to be a sailor, I literally fell into it by accident but I've loved every moment", he said. I'm more tenacious and dogged now and I still hate to lose". Read more ...

Argo Extends its Reach

Amie Huebner of Regatta Designs and Tiffany Semon are taking Argo Challenge to new frontiers with their Internet viral marketing expertise and social media support. They are quick and thorough in their research and outreach. We are looking forward to the video clips that they are producing about our ambassadors, friends, technology and events. This weekend they are in San Diego for the RC44 event … and more.

Massimo Audisio and evolutiva have been doing a phenomenal job with the Argo website. Working closely with Digital Style Technologies who have provided a new design for the web site and the email you are looking at today. Together they are doing a fantastic job at enhancing Argo Challenge’s image and changing over the backend of our website and newsletter so that we can accommodate more functions such as newsletter archival, button sharing, newsletter signup and distribution and accommodating video and links to all of the material that Amie, Tiffany and others are producing.

Our Challenge

The Argo Challenge is determined to show the world that it is possible to reach great objectives even if one is disabled. In sport as in life, barriers can be overcome if one is determined, passionate, professional and is part of a great team.

Argo’s Challenge within the Challenge is raising $6- $ 10 million by March 31, 2011, so that we can register, pay the bond, purchase and AC45 and coordinate the team and start training for the first World Series events this summer.

Numerous organizations, including IFDS (International Association of Disabled Sailors), are supporting Argo Challenge. We need your help as an initial sponsor and as ambassadors.

The Argo Challenge is organized as a non-profit in Italy where idea Argo originated and grew from 2005 through 2010.

Argo Challenge has filed its public benefit corporation documentation and is obtaining 501 C 3 status in the United States. Our team is confident that this status will be granted because our mission is strong and clear and the organization is for a specific purpose. We will have a tax ID number and supporting documentation available for donors to accompany their 2011 tax filings.

Please help us meet our Challenge within the Challenge by joining us as a donor, patron, partner or ambassador.

The Argo Challenge is devoted to serving the worldwide disabled community.
